ABOUT ME

My Passion and Purpose

My name is Heather Bourgeois and I am so excited to be teaching music at Auburn Bay School.  I learned early on that music was a great medium to express oneself and find great joy in making music with others.  I feel privileged to work with young children. Their honesty and spontaneity to move and sing inspire me every day to  take on more of their perspective on life – laugh more, be silly, play more , sing more... and stop being so serious!

HEATHER BOURGEOIS:
I am Alberta born and raised and have lived in Calgary most of my life. I am married and am the mom to three amazing young boys who keep me laughing and on my toes every day.  I love the outdoors and spending time in the mountains.  I also enjoy camping, scrapbooking, working out, being a hockey mom and reading a good book. The favorite part of my day is coming home to my boys and having our daily sing off and dance party.

MRS. BOURGEOIS:
I have been with the Calgary Board of Education since 2004 and have taught music and general classroom kindergarten to grade 6.    I hold a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Elementary Music Education as well as a Diploma of Fine Arts, specializing in Kodaly Concept of Music Education.  I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Education.  I have also taught at  Mount Royal Conservatory in the Early Childhood Music program teaching Kodaly Musicianship classes.  I am excited to be working with you and your children.   Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments.
