Recorder Play Alongs
Below are some recorder play alongs. They use the notes BAGE and a few I have added have added use D because I know some of you wanted a bit of a challenge. Remember you can slow the tempo of the song by clicking on the cog at the bottom right hand side and then clicking on playback speed. I find that .75 is a good speed but if you need it slower .50 is good as well. If you want to recorder yourself playing any of these and email me the video that would be awesome:) I will add to these links as we go on. You can also play the songs/recordings from your yellow recorder books as well. Below are a few tips to remember 1. Left hand on top 2. Right hand on bottom 3. Zombie flat fingers not tiger claws - make sure the holes are covered and use the squeeze test to check. 4. Gentle air - remember to keep your Kleenex floating gently. 5. Consistent, smooth air and with gentle 'du' articulation. Flick of the tongue. Happy playing. Remember to share your recorder playing on the flip grids on your google classroom under the music section of the classwork.

I can't wait to hear you play!!!

Online Music Learning Using MusicPlay

MusicPlay is just one of many resources that I use in the music classroom. I use it mostly for music literacy (reading, writing, composing) as well as for some recorder songs.  The people at music play have created some wonderful lessons and activities for you to use if you wish. Some of the activities align wonderfully with the music literacy skills we have been developing. To access this use the log in information below. Please remember this is just a small portion of resources we use in the music room but is a great way to keep our music skills up.

"True Colors" is one of my favourite songs and this is a gorgeous version of it. I wanted to share it with all of you to show that music can bring us together in any situation.  I hope you love this as much as I do and that it brings joy to your heart.
